Skipjack Preservation
The Center maintains three historic Chesapeake Bay skipjacks -- F.C. Lewis, Jr., Flora A. Price, and Maggie Lee. These historic vessels are used in an onshore exhibit, for heritage tourism and environmental education, and to illustrate the role of sail craft as river traders linking farm towns with Bay cities before the age of railroads and highways. You can volunteer as skipjack crew!

Joppa Wharf Reconstruction
The Maryland Steamboat Company’s 1883 Joppa Wharf is being reconstructed in late 2001-2002. The wharf will hold the F.C. Lewis Jr. skipjack exhibit, a replica passenger terminal to serve as the OHTMC Visitors Center, and a marine railway and paddlecraft soft landing.

Historic Steamboat Warehouse
The Center is housed in a historic steamboat warehouse that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Historic Sites Inventory
With a grant from the Maryland Historic Trust, the Center completed Upper Choptank River and Tuckahoe River Cultural Resource Inventory. The Inventory became the basis for the historic sites component of the Choptank and Tuckahoe RiverGuide.
