Tuckahoe River Access

Public landings on the Tuckahoe River appear closer together - an average of 2.3 miles - than on any other section of the two rivers. Most are on the Talbot County (west) side of the river.

New Bridge Landing is the largest and most well developed, with a large parking lot and slips for temporary use. It is located only a mile from the confluence of the Tuckahoe and Choptank.

The ramp at Covey’s Landing was rebuilt in 1999.  The ramp at Hillsboro is older and narrower.  There is no ramp at Reese’s Landing.  However, the river access is public, with plenty of paved parking and opportunities for canoe or kayak launching.

Stoney Point, the only landing on the Caroline County (east) side, has no ramp but provides easy soft landing for paddle craft.

The ramp at Tuckahoe Park, on Crouse Mill Pond, was rebuilt and enlarged in 1999. It offers access to the extreme upper reaches of the Tuckahoe above Crouse Mill Pond.  However, the dam blocks access to the non-tidal stream from there to Hillsboro. Paddle craft can be launched from the soft banks of the Tuckahoe below the dam.
