1. To search for sites with the Query Builder, be sure that the theme or layer you want to search is the Active Theme.  The Active Theme is “raised” on the legend.

2. Click on the Query Builder icon.

3. Click the field name that you want to query.

3. Click or type the query operator.  In this example, we are looking for historic sites that were founded before the year 1800.

4. Click one of the “Start Year” values found in the data, or type in your own value.

5. Click “Execute” to see results. You can highlight the sites on the map, or pan or zoom to each site.
