The Tuckahoe River runs deep past historic sites connected to small farmers and river merchants, and to the famous ex-slave and civic leader, Frederick Douglass. It also runs deep in the Colonial and Early American history of Talbot and Caroline Counties.
Historic sites along this section of the river are listed here as you would encounter them while travelling upriver from the mouth of the Tuckahoe through Hillsboro to Bridgetown.
